Wearables have already started turning our world upside down, and as they become even better and ever more popular (insert Apple Watch reference here), they’re likely to do even more.
A recent PwC study suggests some of the ways in which wearables are poised to change industries and lives. Here are the observations we found most interesting:
Watch out, retail.
Imagine a world where customers don’t have to wait in line, can find what they’re looking for more quickly and pay without having to take out cards or cash.
Disney is already experimenting with this concept through their newly unveiled MagicBands, which let users pay without taking out a wallet, keep track of children and get onto reserved rides.
